Trinity has a number of active groups for the younger members of the congregation, and for others outside the immediate congregation. Boys BrigadeThe Boys Brigade is a uniformed organisation for boys age 5 to 17 years. The Boys Brigade was founded over 100 years ago and every Company is part of a Christian Church. Here at Trinity the 1st Earley Company runs three sections:
In recent years the Company has been very successful in football, table tennis, chess, athletics and Maze drill competitions. One of the highlights of the Brigade year is the annual camp. PilotsPilots is a non-uniformed organisation for boys and girls aged 5 to 15 years. Pilots receive a badge when they are enrolled, and they have stylish sweatshirts and T-shirts (optional). Pilots meet every Monday evening at 6.00pm, for various activities including games, art, craft, drama and topics of interest of which a record is kept towards Crest Awards throughout the year. Pilots meet with other Pilot companies in the country for days of fun, fellowship and games during the year. Organised camps are held in the summer for Pilots aged 9 and over. The aim is to help the children feel part of the Church Family. Earley Youth NetA lively discussion group for teenagers meeting fortnightly at Trinity Church. Click the logo for more information. Also some of our Young People go along to Lifted and Radiant events in Reading. Junior Churchon Sundays, open to anyone from 0 - 15 years, meeting during 10.00 service. The Creche is available throughout the service, whereas children of 3+ share in the first part of worship before going to their groups:
Junior church takes over not only all our remaining rooms but hired rooms in the youth centre and doctor's surgery next door. ToddlersA lively toddlers group meets twice a week on Monday and Thursday mornings. Nursery ServicesNursery
Services at Cradle RollTrinity has a large cradle roll of those who have been baptised at the Church, and we organise a weekly Nursery Service on Wednesdays (14.00) aimed at the pre-school children and their parents. Holiday Bible ClubEach year during the summer holiday we organise a Holiday Bible Club with Bible-based fun for the children aged 5 -11, usually with a theme, such as 'The Big Top', with lots of clowns, jugglers and acrobats, when over 40 youngsters (and the helpers) enjoy a memorable few days. |
